Papa John’s and San Antonio Scorpions

Papa John’s teamed up with the San Antonio Scorpions, a pro soccer team that plays in the North American Soccer League, to offer special discounts to fans of the Scorpions and soccer fans in general. Papa John’s seeks to drive immediate revenue through of all its advertising and sponsorship, and that’s exactly what the company has done here.

It’s an exclusive offer that also benefits Morgan’s Wonderland, so it’s a win-win for all parties involved. The deal also involves two local radio stations (KZEP 104.5 & Sports Radio Ticket 760) in order to get some free promotion through those stations’ listener bases. Check out the promotion (which includes its own microsite compete with the Scorpions schedule) here: http://gopapajohns.com/

Chick-fil-A Cow Appreciation Day

How does a company get a ton of free PR attention while also catering to its biggest fans? Look no further than Chick-fil-A’s annual Cow Appreciation Day, where customers and fans of the company dress up like cows in order to get some free chicken (all in the name of saving cows, of course).

This year, Chick-fil-A went all out by fully embracing the day on social media channels as well as on its website. The quick service restaurant had a dedicated landing page on its website, a #CowAppreciationDay hashtag, and a YouTube video explaining what the day means. Not sure how to properly construct a cow costume? No worries. Chick-fil-A has you covered with a photo gallery with the best costumes and even a PDF starter kit to help make a quick Cow costume.
