Lately it can feel like it’s impossible to watch sports without seeing an advertisement for a sports betting app or website. Why is that? How did it grow so quickly? Do people really bet that much on sports? What states are legal to bet in? We all want the answers to these questions, so we did the research to give them to you.

At Navigate, everything we do is in service to our mission: ‘To provide our clients with clarity and confidence when making their biggest decisions’. For many, this means developing a strategy that creates a roadmap for growth. This mission drove us to dive deeper into the world of sports betting.

With sports betting quickly on the rise, we conducted a survey of over 1,000 American sport fans and categorized them as either a Current Sports Bettor (CSB) or a Future Sports Bettor (FSB), depending on their current or intended betting behaviors. Through this research, we were able to better understand why sports fans are driven to bet, what barriers they face when betting, and their perceptions and behaviors around the rapidly growing space.

Before we share our results, we thought we’d give our peers an opportunity to test their sports betting knowledge. We ran a similar quiz prior to the release of our Gen Z study results, and quickly saw that Gen Z was not as greatly understood as most people thought. This time around, you’ll be able to TEST YOUR SPORTS BETTING KNOWLEDGE.

If you’ve never played two truths and a lie, we might ask if you’ve never been to summer camp. Each person is asked to come up with three ‘facts’ about themselves. Two are true and one is not. The rest of the team then offers guesses about which one is the lie. It is a great way to get to know things about your team that may never come up in everyday conversation. Only occasionally are those things you wish you never knew.

Now, we would like to invite YOU to play ‘two truths and a lie’, Sports Betting style. Click HERE to be taken to the quiz where you will be shown seven sets of three statements each. Within each set, ONE of the statements is a lie. If exercising your brain wasn’t enough of a motivation, anyone who participates will be entered into a drawing to win a $75 Amazon gift card (we will be giving away two gift cards). Good luck!
