Leading Navigate’s Innovation and Secondary Research
In an effort to put Navigate at the forefront of new and emerging trends in sports and entertainment, Matt is constantly looking for ways that Navigate can innovate both internally and externally. More recent examples of this include setting up the first sports consultancy in the Metaverse, building comprehensive digital measurement toolkit utilizing purely observational data and developing methodologies to estimate the fair market value of modern marketing vehicles such as influencer campaigns and NFTs.
Additionally, Matt and his secondary research team focus on valuations of naming rights, jerseys, multimedia rights, social media and all other commercial assets across pro and college sports as well as insights for clients related to sponsorship white space, prospecting, ROI, demographic fit, property fit and other ad hoc analysis.

Would you rather be the best player on the worst team or the worst player on the best team?
Definitely the worst player on the best team. When I look back at my athletic career, it was always more fun to just contribute than lead. My dad actually taught me a great life lesson growing up that anytime a Balvanz is a team’s best player, that team is in trouble!
