The SEC sought to explore possible alternative football scheduling models as a 14-team league, along with data and analysis to determine how those models would impact the conference’s key priorities and objectives.

Solution

Navigate created dozens of possible scheduling models, collaborated with the SEC on narrowing the list to a handful of finalists that would achieve the league’s priorities, and then used Navigate’s proprietary simulation model to test the impact of those schedules on metrics such as likelihood to qualify for the CFP, bowl eligibility, attendance, television viewership, and more.

Result

Stay tuned … as Navigate’s scope has both evolved to focus on a 16-team league after the announced future additions of Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC, and expanded to also include Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Baseball, and Softball.
