On this week’s episode of Navigating Sports Business, AJ interviews his close friend Roger Valdiserri, former Sports Information Director at Notre Dame. Over the course of his 28-year career, he was an eyewitness to some of the most important moments in college athletics and beyond.

The conversation includes stories from Roger’s time at the Olympics with the famous 1992 “Dream Team,” his friendship with legendary Fighting Irish coach Ara Parseghian, and the year he spent with the Kansas City Chiefs before returning to his beloved Notre Dame. His leaving the NFL was due to a profound enthusiasm for college sports, and not because he once threw up on Hall of Famer Buck Buchanan, although he does admit to the latter.

Roger even provides the inside scoop on the time he convinced the world to pronounce then freshman quarterback Joe Theismann’s name “like Heisman.”
